I grew up in Nixa, Missouri my whole life. Nixa is only about 10 minutes south of Springfield. Even though I didn’t actually live in Springfield, it’s where I spent most of my time. I actually ended up moving to Springfield for 3 years, and here’s why I did it as well as my overall experience.

Why I moved to Springfield, Missouri
I moved out of Nixa and into Springfield for two main reasons. Cost and convenience. Let’s start with cost.
Cost
When it comes to searching for a rental home, apartment, duplex or even simply purchasing, Springfield is across the board cheaper. You’ll find endless apartments as well as much more inventory for sale when compared to Nixa, Ozark, Republic and other surrounding cities. This means that rent and home prices are actually cheaper!
Convenience
Listen, everything is in Springfield. If you live in any of the surrounding cities, chances are you work in Springfield. If you want to have a fun night out either at the bars, movies, or with the family, you’re probably going to Springfield. If I am craving a good steak, Springfield!
Living anywhere in the city basically means you’re a stone’s throw away from anything you may need. You can get your oil changed, grab some lunch, run by the grocery store and go to the gym all within a few minute radius. I LOVED being so close to absolutely everything! Springfield doesn’t have a big city feel, even though it’s much, much larger than any surrounding suburban city.
You don’t have to worry about the insane cost of living, traffic, crime or anything else that comes with a big city. You get none of the headache and all of the entertainment and convenience.
Why I left Springfield
I lived in Springfield for 3 years and loved it! However, I did end up moving back to Nixa. This is only because personally, I like my space. I don’t want to be in the heart of ANYTHING, haha! I like living in a small, boring, safe and quiet little neighborhood and commuting to the city when I need anything done.
Generally, Springfield always has things going on through all hours. Nixa sleeps. Plus, I got a great deal on my current house and that’s fairly rare right now in this market so I jumped on it.
